I really have won now (thank goodness)! Final scores:

GB 1618, AC 808, TG 60.

Quite the silliest game of Nimbleweed I've taken part in and we really need to amend the rules.

It didn't work, as you were being awkward! I mean, that was extreme! We shouldn't need this rule, but...

I wasn't being awkward! I was just playing within the rules. You proposed another rule, and I accepted it. I'm quite happy to amend the rules next time but I think you should acknowledge that I won fairly.

I do, as I know you did, but it wasn't what I would call in the spirit of the game.

Well, I drew up the original rules, but they've been amended in various ways. The game has evolved in ways that I didn't envisage.

I'm a bit busy for the next few days, so I propose that we start the new one on Wednesday morning under amended rules. I'll post my proposed amendments in due course.

You didn't do yourself any favours by refusing to concede when you knew you were beaten.

Anyway, I'm going to leave things for a few days. I've just remembered that I have to go away on Thursday morning, so I may not start until Friday. Will take my time in any case.

I was out yesterday, and so didn't go to concede until after the end of the game, as I couldn't concede. You said it yourself:

Seng as he's gone, no!
You can't answer on his behalf! He can't possibly win now. He's 721 points behind and the most he can claim before 08:20:00 tomorrow is 360. Or were you planning to make another claim for him to spoil? You'll have to wait for him to claim first, and I'll probably jump on that one as well.
How many points til you reach the target?
I need 89 points for an 810-point lead, but I'm not planning to make any more claims. I can't see any way that I can possibly lose this game.

That's nonsense. At 12:35:37 I wrote:
My lead is now 361, and the maximum claim is 360. AC can only make one more claim before the end of the game, unless another player makes a valid claim. I do not intend to make any further claims. Therefore the only thing that can save AC is the entrance of another player.

Would you like to concede, AC?
You made a post at 13:01:49, ignoring my question, so you clearly hadn't gone out.

Can I also point out that you went ahead in this game after the rule change which you yourself had proposed. You subsequently threw your lead away and never regained the initiative. You were simply outplayed.

The reason why I want to change the rules isn't because I think the game was unfair, it's because I think it was boring. It was getting more like Tumbleweed! Nimbleweed was designed as a fast-moving game and I want to keep it like that. The introduction of the 7-day limit created a loophole which I was able to exploit. Maybe we should simply remove the 7-day rule for future games?

At that point, I was hoping to have a chance, as my idea was to wait until first thing (game time) this morning, and make the claim of 286 Points then, when you wouldn't be up as it is Sunday!

I wanted TG to claim, as at that time I thought I could still have won, not remembering that I was going out at before quarter past! I would have conceded after you had spoiled the 360 Points, as I then would have had no chance!

But you were too late! I'd already successfully claimed an additional 76 points, bringing my lead up to 361. At that point you should really have conceded. You should have got in quicker and spoiled my 76-point claim to have a chance!

Now now, break it up!

I did have an idea about a rule change which would prevent games like the last one. What if players were allowed to claim again (as soon as they liked) after an unsuccessful claim? After a successful claim, you'd still have to wait for another player to make a valid claim.
