Not having to do Zone 1 would probably not shave a dramatic amount of time off, certainly not three hours, because you'll end up using it for connections anyway. I like the 1&2 challenge - after all, that's what the most basic Travelcard covers!

I'd suggest starting at 10.30 to make sure you have enough time to finish.

But if you're running behind, you can always abandon it and head straight for Shoreditch ...

I definitely won't be able to combine this with Shoreditch :(

Would it be worthwhile setting up a specific Z1/Z2 later in the year with a central London meet ?

The draw for the starting station should be interesting enough alone :D

Yes - as none of us knows how long it takes, combining it with Shoreditch may be a waste of time.

Kevin - I think the starting station should not be drawn from every single station, it would probably be better just to put stations near the edge of Zone 2 into the hat. If this becomes a regular event then we could start anywhere, but as it is the first time and we don't know how long it takes we should give people a start advantage by starting somewhere like North Acton, for example.

I'm going to put my foot down now and say "I'm not going to do this". Two 275s in a week might have something to do with it...

Well I'm up for the zones 1 and 2 challenge, and I've spent many minutes planning the best route.

The draw for starting station was a bit tongue in cheek, maybe we can schedule this for later in the year by which time CS should have recovered from his 275's :D

2 in a week? Try doing 5! It would be possible - just reverse your route every day.

Anthony, you're crazy, but I appreciate your craziness :). I just hope you don't wear yourself out on the first run...

So why don't you make the starting point one of the 13 stations that are on the outer rim of Zone 2. You could start at 1100 and say that you have to be in Shoreditch by 2000. That gives 9 hours to complete the challenge. The winning team would be the ones to complete all 138 stations in Z1/Z2 in the fastest time or to complete the most stations within the time limit. Should there be any special rules regarding Mornington Crescent? :P
