Re: Rare Entries Quiz II
I was feeling pleased with second this morning, only to be crushed by the recount...
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.
Doesn't any more.

Re: Rare Entries Quiz II
As it seems most are happy to have the rounds scored individually and not cumulatively, I've decided not to make a comparison of scoring methods that I had planned. I have, however, created a spreadsheet to record the overall scores using the multiplication method, as that seemed most popular.
I have multiplied both the points scored in each round and the ranking they achieved. My opinion is that the latter is more interesting; at the very least it's easier to comprehend. Players who didn't enter a particular round were given the rank of the last player plus one, and points equal to the last player multiplied by two. This is denoted in the spreadsheet with italics. greatkingrat and tubeguru have each "hosted" a round and have therefore been unable to enter, but as they entered each other's rounds I decided they could share an overall score.
Here's the link; just remember it's not official

I think we should make it official. I like where I am on it.Root wrote:As it seems most are happy to have the rounds scored individually and not cumulatively, I've decided not to make a comparison of scoring methods that I had planned. Re: Rare Entries Quiz II
OK, working on round III (Roman numerals will be used in the titles, as I like them).
The questions will be slightly more restrictive this time, to ensure it's harder to find a unique answer.

Re: Rare Entries Quiz II
Not sure if you've already considered the matter, but I was thinking that a one week on / one week off timetable would do nicely for this quiz, so that the next one would start this Sunday the 13th, and then every fortnight after that, with one week of time to answer. Of course it's entirely at your discretion. It just depends on how much time you want to put into it.

I'm happy for the quiz to run when I find the time to make new rounds. I'm sure no one's going to mind if it doesn't stick to a rigid timetable ...
