I think that that's absurd and unnecessary. It's just a bit of banter and it's a tradition to say that there are X clues in the picture. I've never heard of marks being deducted for anything else being said in jest, and if people find it annoying, then they don't need to read it!

THERE ARE 13 CLUES IN THIS PICTURE!!! TWO OF THEM REALLY GIVE IT AWAY IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK!
