I think if you go back to the original photo quizzes it was stated that the pictures would be of Lodnon Underground stations. There were a couple of fun photos (I posted a Swedish station) but these were done outside the normal photoquiz. Personally I think this round should be voided.

Well I knew this wasn't anywhere on the London Underground but other than that I didn't have a scooby as to the city or country......

Must be the resolution that I use on the computer that goes against me, for using the two pictures engrained in the thread, these are my observations regarding the clues:

Big yellow train - I can't even see the obvious train, I can see something that looks as though it may be a train, but equally that looks as though it could be the other platform with a view through pillars
No fourth rail - I can only see one rail, let alone not observing four!
German under the roundel - That could be any language underneath the roundel, to me it just looks like a vaguely distanct scrawl
"Box" for the platform staff/announcer - Admittedly the station layout looks "different", but there are stations on the LU that are relatively unique in station layout
The emergency alarm - Didn't notice this, nor would I probably have considered it, fair play
No writing/yellow lines on the platform - This was the thing that did confuse me, but given that it wasn't obvious to me that it was foreign, I was trying to think of a LU station with this feature!

All in all, the clues weren't overly helpful to me, and I think we should stick with LU stations :P

I think the whole idea of the photo quiz is to test your knowledge of London Underground (or stations on a standard tube map). If you have a vague idea of where the station is then you can back it up by doing some research on the internet (or if you are particularly sad actually visit the station). To post foreign stations that 99% of the forum havent visited then makes the quiz an entire internet search. Therefore I would say foreign stations shouldn't be included in this particular quiz.

I agree as well. This quiz should be for London Underground stations only.

It's a little much to expect all of us to have a fighting chance with the German underground systems.

I think its been pretty balanced and as long as the majority are in London I don't think its an issue, its definately more challenging and it had a London Underground theme, this was the only one that actually phased me in the whole 20 quizzes, I'd say maybe 1 or 2 foreign stations maximum or something like that

I assume that by limiting it to LU only, you would still include DLR?
Although I'm not particularly bothered about that myself.

Somewhere that most UK tube challengers are assumed to have been to at some point would be a good start.

Probably keeping it to somewhere that most of us have done challenges on would be a good ruling. If we keep it to stations on the tube map it may not be much easier - who here knows what Wanstead Park or Hatch End look like?

I know what Hatch End looks like, my gran lives near there :)

I could recognise it from the outside, but probably not from the platform.
